  • What was once reserved for ceremonial tea in Japan, Matcha Green Tea has found its way into mainstream life.  Matcha can now be found iced lattes, health shakes, ice cream and baked goods.  With good reason, too!  2 cups of brewed matcha  has 7 times the antioxidants of orange juice and contains nearly 20 grams of Calcium.  The tea bushes are shaded for 3 weeks before harvesting to increase the chlorophyll levels.  The leaves are steamed and dried immediately after harvesting and stripped of all stems and veins.  The pure leaf is stone ground into a fine powder and produces a low caffeinated and high antioxidant green tea.  Samurai matcha green tea is premium example in the art in making a pure Japanese style matcha green tea.
