SCOTTISH OAT SCONE RECIPE 2

Scone Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups Rolled oats -- quick-cooking
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2/3 cup Butter -- melted
  • 1/3 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg -- slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup Raisins

Scone Preparation:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt. Add the butter, milk and egg, stirring just until the dry ingredients are moistened. Shape the dough into a ball and turn onto a lightly floured surface to form an 8-inch circle. Cut into wedges. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 6 to 8.
