OATS SCONE RECIPE

Scone Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup Oat flour
  • 1 1/4 cups Sifted flour
  • 3 tablespoons Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk -- divided
  • 1 Eggs -- beaten
  • Butter
  • Jam

Scone Preparation:

Hear over to 400 degrees. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and brown sugar; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine 1/3 cup buttermilk with eggs and stir into flour mixture. Add more buttermilk to make a soft dough that can be rolled. Roll into a strip 4 inches wide x 3/4 inch thick. Cut into triangles and bake in greased, floured baking pan for 15-18 minutes. Serve with butter and jam.
