DROPPED SCONES

Scone Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup Self-rising flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 tablespoons Milk
  • 6 drops Lemon extract

Scone Preparation:

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Cut in the butter, then add the sugar. Beat together the egg and milk; add with the lemon flavoring to the flour mixture and mix well. Drop 1 tablespoonful at a time onto a greased griddle heated to 350 degrees. Brown and turn. Cool on a wire rack. These are traditionally served fresh at room temperature, spread with butter.
