Taste the difference!
Preventing cancer still remains unanswered for modern science and medicine.
Green tea research is providing some answers but even more questions.
Drinking tea does one thing for certain, it introduces
green tea as a daily source
of beneficial micro nutrients.  Science has shown links between green tea
catechins and flavonoids on reducing the incidence of cancerous tumors in both
animals and humans.  Green tea in particular has been the focus of study
because greater quantities of these compounds exist in green tea and white
tea.
Black tea, and oolong tea still contain many of the same beneficial
components, but they have not received as much attention or study.  The
compounds of most interest within green tea are called
polyphenols also known
as tea tannins.  The best known is Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG).  Other
green tea polyphenols with similiar properties are Epicatechin, Epigallocatechin,
and Epicatechin Gallate.  Research conducted by the National Cancer Center in
Tokyo suggests about tens cups of green tea per day for the prevention of
cancer.  Especially for people with high risk of stomach, intestine, colon or liver
cancer.  Cancer research also suggests that green tea polyphenols can inhibit
the pathways of developing cancer cells.  One mechanism of tumor production
may involve oxidative damage to cells by free radicals.  Drinking green tea
"mops" up these free radical and helps safely pass them through the body with
out causing cell damage.  Carcinogens are introduced throughout the digestive
system mainly from the foods we eat.  Smoking, food additives and pesticides
make up the majority of the harmful carcinogens we consume, but they also exist
in foods that are smoked, pickled, fermented, or contain small amount of mold
from products containing grain, wheat, corn or, rye.  Green tea’s rich supply of
antioxidants may also play a key role in the prevention of other cancers, like
breast, and lung cancer.  While the potential anti-cancer properties of green tea
look promising, they are also complex and not yet completely understood.
Antioxidants are best consumed in loose tea.  Take the time to prepare and
enjoy a nice cup of tea.   There are many extracts and pills on the market today,
but as with any product, capitalists have tried to bottle this healthy beverage and
this process removes any of the health benefits.
Green Tea health benefits
Green tea has been the preferred beverage for centuries in many Asian and
European countries.  Tea has many therapeutic uses as well as being a
form of ritual and ceremony.  The calming tranquility attained from relaxing,
and enjoying a warm cup of green tea can be the most beneficial form of
therapy yet.  It has been said that laughter is the best medicine, so enjoy a
cup of tea with a friend and reap the health benefits of green tea.
Longevity
To attract good fortune, spend a new coin on an old friend, share an old pleasure with a new
friend, and lift up the heart of a true friend by writing his name on the wings of a dragon.
