Ceylon ~ Individual Tea Bags
There are five principle growing disricts on the island of Sri Lanka. The
high grown districts (>4,000 feet above sea level), characterized by teas
that are light and flavory are Dimbula, Nuwara Eliya and Uva. The
medium grown district of Kandy (2,000- 4,000 feet), whose teas exhibit
a malty fullness with floral notes and the low grown region of Ruhunu
(below 2,000 feet), where teas tend to be thick and full bodied. These
tea bags are comprised of only high mountain grown Ceylon green tea.
As with all green teas, proper water temperature is essential for bringing
out the true essence of the leaf. Generally, water temperatures should
not exceed 180 degrees Fahrenheit and steeping time is around 2 -3
minutes. Excessive temperatures and longer steep times cause green tea
to become bitter and astringent. Taste the difference and enjoy an
excellant and satisfying green tea.
